Today
BBC posted that a paralyzed man can control his television set with his brain via an implanted chip in his brain. This like all new an pioneering technologies has vast potential for abuse, but I am optimistic and prefer to focus on the positive implementations. When this technology has come further along in development I myself will consider having one implanted but first I would study it and make sure that it had no neuro-toxic effects and would not allow me to be tracked anymore than I am right now. Having a chip in your brain may be quite invasive and perhaps too much so for the average vide-screen surfer. But having
faster and complete access to the internet that is our best outward attempt at a physical interconnected information reservoir would be something hard for me to turn down. Access such as this could quite possibly hinder one's ability to evolve mentally and the list of conceivable downsides goes on... I do know that when I receive "external" information I like it to be external, and the trend has thus far been in my favor. So for now I'll keep the internet on the other end of my eyes.
