Badass 0day Anime Reviewed!!!
Don't read this post if these 3 topics don't interest you in a fictional context:
Future, Mind, Technology
First let me credit sites that I have found useful check it Cyberpunk Review <= these guys cover live action as well as animation, however I will only be reviewing Anime that has themes such as distopic/utopic futures, alternate realities, other planets, future tech, philosophy, conciousness just to name a few.
Second allow me to link to this "cyberpunk/steampunk Recommendation Engine 1.4" which happens to be an excellent post on cyberpunk and steampunk for those unacquainted with this sub-genre of sci-fi.
I am going to try and keep my comments, opinions, and ideas based only on the title if i have seen it in the last 20 months or so, because opinions change, and I want this particular post to contain recent content from my wrinkled neurocortex, considering most of this Phung_Blog is old shi7 from 4 or 5 years ago.
Zegapain- I'm to episode 3, kinda matrixy so far so good. I was lucky to get a copy of the series that contains dual audio both Japanese and English.
Kaiba - This series was interesting from begining to end. Kaiba had some interesting concepts about memory and what makes up a person but the animation is what grabs you by the eye balls. It looks like nothing i've seen before, very simple yet complex. Makes me think of the game: World of Goo.
Gurren Lagann
Nausicaa
Code Geass- 6.5/10 Cool story, although I agree with some critics that notice enormous similarities in themes that are brought up in Death Note. Probably about a third of the series was filler episodes and although i haven't finished it quite yet, I'm about to and I'm loosing interest in the characters and their unrealistic motivations.
